PRETREATMENT
These materials are “water-soluble” lubricants. These materials chelate the metals, inhibiting the precipitation. And these materials coat the organic membranes reducing the flow. In addition, no one every knows which process will be operating, for how long or how much waste is generated. These issues dictate addition reaction tanks to avoid the clouding sample shown, which will cause membrane flow to drop.
The aerospace industry uses exotic materials to withstand the stuff of engine operation. There is very little nickel or chrome, or other minerals which need to be controlled for discharge. But no matter what, the waste must be treated as the general discharge would be out of compliance otherwise.
What makes the stream difficult is that the waste is part of the milling, grinding and cutting fluids used to craft the various components.
